White Mountain CT Plus™ is a high performance, two-component, air or force dried, aliphatic acrylic urethane enamel.  CT Plus has the highest color retention and atmospheric durability that current coatings technology can provide.  CT Plus dries hard, with a resilient tile like toughness that gives it unsurpassed impact and abrasion resistance.  In addition, it is impermeable to water, and resistant to splash and spill type contact with most chemicals. CT Plus is designed as a finished product surface enamel.  Typical uses include; concrete counter tops, concrete architectural elements, concrete water features and unglazed or glazed tile surfaces. CT Plus is only available in quart size kits, in gloss or matte finish.

*A note on natural red pigments:
While all of the Classic Artist Oil pigments are inspected to meet the highest standards of quality, please keep in mind that many natural red pigments are not lightfast in and of themselves, and are only suitable for use as a full shade because they tend to darken or fade over time if tinted or mixed. There was a time in all paint manufacturers’ not so distant past, when large amounts of mercury and lead were often added to preserve color. Now that we know the dangers of these ingredients, we have removed these hazards from our formulas, and we can only hope that this process has been discontinued in all paint manufacturing. Nevertheless, the large demand of certain shades of red has not lessened, and though they are not entirely lightfast, you can still purchase these shades. We are proud to offer a number of superior, synthetic reds as alternatives in response to the demand for a high quality red pigment. Although not available to earlier painters, these reds allow for many of the sought after characteristics of the natural pigments, while retaining the superior lightfastness required by the professional artist.

Everyone has seen them. After all, that was the point. They are found across America and in Canada. Ghost signs, faded ads. The sign painters, who were affectionately known in the advertising industry as "wall dogs," because they were virtually chained to the wall by their equipment until the job was finished, arrived in town unheralded. After unloading ladders and scaffolds and mixing their colors, they would, in a few short hours, transform drab, burnt-umber brick walls into 40-foot loaves of sliced bread, sweating bottles of soft drink or shoelace-selling cherubim. Many ghost signs still available for public view are from the 1890s to 1930s but by the second half of the 20th century, with the advent of digital printing, the industry practice had all but disappeared and we are left with fading remnants offering a glimpse into the past and the values that supported this hardworking culture …a photographic tribute to unexpected survival.
